Thaumatrope Pendant – Handcrafted in sterling silver

This pendant takes its inspiration from Victorian thaumatrope toys, the spinning discs that make two images appear as one. The main form is first sculpted in wax like a small sculpture, then cast in solid sterling silver. We hand-engrave the tiny bird on one side and the delicate cage on the other. When the pendant moves, they visually combine, a little illusion that brings the piece to life.

Each pendant is finished with oxidised details to highlight the engraving and give it a soft, vintage feel. It’s a subtle, thoughtful design for anyone who loves curiosity pieces and handcrafted jewellery with a story.
