Imaginarium Atelier

Imaginarium Atelier was founded in 2019 by jewellers Sylvaine Frouin and Marek Machlowski, after both had spent over fifteen years honing their craft. Blending traditional goldsmithing with art jewellery, they create sculptural, enduring pieces that tell individual stories.

Every piece is meticulously handcrafted using techniques such as hand engraving, stone setting, enamelling and wax carving. The process is deeply collaborative, with each piece evolving through a constant exchange of ideas and often passing between both makers’ hands. Designs frequently begin with unusual gemstones, chosen for their colour, inclusions and character, which guide and shape the creative process. We also do unique commissions and re-modeling work. Sylvaine and Marek are drawn to making jewellery that is thoughtful, distinctive and rich in detail. Forests, folklore and the arts feed their imagination, while the smallest elements found in nature offer endless inspiration. The result is jewellery that feels poetic and slightly theatrical, with a subtle touch of magic.

In January 2025, Imaginarium Atelier began a new chapter, relocating from Brighton to the Dyfi Valley in Mid Wales. After more than fifteen years in a busy city, the move brought a slower rhythm and a deeper connection to landscape, with the workshop now nestled among hills that continually inform the work.

Over the years, Imaginarium Atelier has exhibited at events across the UK while selling through its online shop. As the project continues to evolve, the focus is shifting away from frequent events and towards establishing a permanent home: a brick-and-mortar Imaginarium Atelier, bringing together workshop and gallery. This has been the long-held vision since the beginning to create a place where jewellery is not only displayed, but made, shared and experienced.
