This piece began with a house-shaped dendritic agate. Its plant-like inclusions set the direction for the design.
This tiny refuge pendant brings together elements that feel grounded and familiar. Set alongside the unique gemstone, is a miniature key within an arched frame, placed over a mother-of-pearl background. The base of the pendant is a hand-painted enamelled surface with an earthy, ancient feel.
A vibrant carnelian adds a sense of warmth, and an oval tourmaline brings depth and contrast. The gemstone settings are solid 22ct gold, and the base is finished with 24k fine gold keum-boo, a traditional Korean gilding technique.
A one-off piece from the Cabinet of Curiosities collection, a small refuge made to live close to the heart.
