Imaginarium Atelier comes from the minds of Marek Machlowski and
Sylvaine Frouin, partners in life and working alongside each other on our respective jewellery brands for the past 10 years. Imaginarium is the little world we have created to make our dream jewellery come to life. By joining forces and sharing a very different set of skills we are aiming to create striking fine jewellery with an illustrative contemporary feel, entirely hand-crafted in our Brighton based workshop.

The Team:

co-founder, co-designer, technical director

Originally from Poland, Marek comes from a family of goldsmiths. He learnt his craft from his father and made his first ring when he was nine years old. His passion for high jewellery has just been growing stronger ever since. Through the years, he has developed painstaking attention to detail, a passion for technical skills and a desire to work to the limits of precious materials. Specialising in stone-setting, he is always striving for perfection and drawn to new intricate setting techniques. His designs are mostly made to order, classical shapes with a contemporary twist, clean lines and spotless finish. Marek has a passion for all things handmade and loves to experiment and consistently learn new skills, always exploring new fields that feed his creativity.

co-founder, co-designer, artistic director

Sylvaine comes from the West of France, she has always been a true art lover, drawing and painting for as long as she can remember. She focused on art and design subjects in school, before a-two-year traditional jewellery training in Brittany. Never without a sketchbook, she collects them like journals where jewellery design ideas mix with expressive, surrealist or traditional drawings. Each design appears to her first as a vision that she translates in 3D using silver, gold, and gemstones. Sylvaine uses many different techniques and especially enjoys hand-engraving and wax carving processes. Inspired by childhood memories, the subconscious and the magic of dreams, she sees faces in everything and they appear a lot in her work. She likes to associate organic shapes with geometric lines. Her latest collection is an exploration of patterns which can be overlooked in nature. She creates imaginary mini-ecosystems, the layered sculptural compositions are at once organic and futuristic.

The aesthetic of the Imaginarium comes from the marriage of classical goldsmithing techniques with the desire to create a mysterious world full of theatre and whimsy . Each piece from our first collection is made of gold and platinum, set with diamonds and precious stones. The elegant and bold designs hold a subtle touch of magic, it allows the wearer to express their individuality in an exquisite way.
